Causes of pleural thickening:
1- Benign: Less than 1 cm with flat and focal appearance.
2-Malignant: More than 1 cm with nodular; lobulated and circumferential thickness.
3-The above mentioned four features if you have one of them considered pleural thickening of neoplastic origin.
4- Causes of malignant pleural thickening:
-Metastases.
-Thymoma gives drop metastases to pleura.
-Lymphoma.
-Mesothelioma.
