Snapchat week 43 radiology bits

1st clip:

Smooth interlobular septal thickening:

1-When you seen smooth interlobular septal thickening think in pulmonary edema versus lymphangitic carcinomatosis.
2-Look for cardiac structures carefully even in chest x-ray to verify the cause of this edema.
3-Most common cardiac defect is thrombus.
4-Most common cardiac neoplasm is metastases.
5-Most common cardiac 1ry neoplasm is myxoma.
6-Most common 1ry benign cardiac neoplasm is myxoma.
7-Most common 1ry malignant cardiac neoplasm is sarcoma.
8-Most common location of myxoma is in the left atrium with classic broad or narrow attachment to the inter atrial septum.
9-Myxoma could prolapse through mitral valve to left ventricle during cardiac cycle causing mitral stenosis.
10-Myxoma is a DDX of pulmonary hypertension.

2nd clip:
1-In non contrast CT scan of the brain; the grey matter appears white while the white matter appears grey.
2-Ventricles should have normal thin and regular linings.
3-DDX of enhanced ependymal linings:
-If it is thin with enhancement and no nodularity and with periventricular edema think for ventriculitis.
-If it is thick and nodular enhancement think for neoplasm.
-Classic tumors that are bright on non contrast CT are
*Meningioma.
*Lymphoma.
*Germinoma.
*Medulloblastoma.
They are rich in cells.
